Known for it’s deep-rooted spirit of family and friends, otherwise known as Gemütlichkeit, the Big Bear Lake Oktoberfest has become a Fall tradition. The Doo Wah Riders have carved out a niche with their "California Country" style, seamlessly blending traditional country with elements of rock and bluegrass, often incorporating Western Swing. Since their formation, they have become a staple on the country music circuit, celebrated for their dynamic stage presence and musicianship. Expect an evening filled with fan favorites like "The Last Ride" and high-energy numbers that get audiences moving, showcasing their innovative approach to American roots music.
The South County Concert Association has been providing quality live entertainment at a very reasonable price for over 50 years. We are an all-volunteer organization supported by subscriber fees, donations and grants from the Arts Council of Anne Arundel County, and the Maryland State Arts Council. SCCA is committed to offering superb concerts at very affordable prices to our community. Each of our artists is carefully chosen to provide the highest quality entertainment available. We offer a variety of music genres, from poplar to classical music and include vocalists, instrumentalists, and an occasional dance group. Founded in 1975, SCCA started with 4 concerts including performances by Jerome Hines and the Norman Luboff Choir. Over the decades, we have featured world-class performers including the Roger Wagner Chorale, The New Christy Minstrels, The Diamonds, Benny Goodman Orchestra, and many more. Each season, we offer both Live-on-Stage (LOS) artists as well as at least one local performing group. Recent LOS artists include Vox Fortura, The Everly Set, The Diamonds and the Young Irelanders. Recent Anne Arundel County performers have included the Peacherine Ragtime Orchestra, the Londontowne Symphony Orchestra, Maryland Live with Ernie Green, Encore Creativity, and the Ballet Theater of Maryland. SCCA's six Presidents over the past 50 years have led a team of capable and enthusiastic board members drawn from a variety of professional backgrounds. Our hundreds of subscribers have allowed us to bring musical entertainment and cultural enrichment to our South County community year after year.

Cowboy Country, located off of South Street, just east of Downey Ave. and 1 mile south of the 91 Freeway, has been cited as being the last of the honky-tonk bars in Southern California. So, be warned the lineup of Harleys in the Parking lot can be a little intimidating! But, don’t let that stop you, come on in and drink this place in! It’s a large 15,000-square-foot dancehall and saloon. There’s a total of three dance floors, a pool room, a short-order kitchen, and two full bars. And, of course, a stage for the live band that plays every night they are open (Wednesday, Friday & Saturday).
Cowboy County is indeed a genuine honky-tonk bar and dance hall. And, I think like a lot of honky-tonks it has its own unique personality and flair. To begin, the layout of the club is a bit odd. The main dance floor for line dancing and partner dancing is a weird shape that you step up to. The second dance floor (actually closer to the entrance) is used for people, say, wanting do a cha-cha or do some extra practicing when there’s a line dance happening on the main floor.
